August has its own rhythm.

Here on Lake Como, it feels even more true. The light changes throughout the day, the lake reflects the sky until late in the evening, and all it takes is sitting at a table overlooking the water to realise that sometimes the best thing you can do is simply slow down.

This is exactly the month when La Baia expresses its true character.

Not only because our lakeside terrace is at its most beautiful or because our summer menu is meant to be enjoyed at this time of year. But because August is when every piece of the restaurant comes together perfectly.

While many people are slowing down for the holidays, here our entire team is in place.

Behind every lunch by the lake, every sunset aperitivo and every dinner that naturally stretches into an after-dinner drink, there is a team of almost forty people working with one goal: allowing you to forget everything else and simply enjoy your time with us.

We see you sitting at your table, taking in the view, smiling as your dish arrives, raising a glass of wine, returning the smile of the person welcoming you. What you often don't see is the quiet work that makes all of this possible. The kitchen coordinating dozens of preparations, the dining room team looking after every table with care, and the bar setting the pace from aperitivo through to after dinner.

Perhaps this is the photograph that best tells the story of La Baia.

Not the one of the lake, beautiful as it is, but the one of all the people who, every single day, help create an experience that goes far beyond lunch or dinner.
